At the end of July, we headed down to Utah for the Nielsen family reunion. We stayed in Park City where Dave's parents' rented a house and all of Dave's siblings came in for the get together including his Grandma from California. It was so fun to see her. She's just as spunky as ever!
This was the first official Nielsen family reunion that I had been to, so when the customized Nielsen Family t-shirts came out, I knew we were in for a treat. We got divided into teams right away for the "Itty Bitty Park City" contest that Beth had put together. She had taken pictures of a whole bunch of random things on Main Street and we competed to see which team could find all of these landmarks. It didn't take long for the competitive side of everyone to come out!
The competition didn't stop there. Brian and Chelsie planned out a "Minute To Win It" tournament one night. I couldn't stack plastic cups on top of each other for the life of me. Sounds easy, right? And it should be under normal circumstances. The competition got down to Dave versus Terry. In the end, Terry was able to balance his egg on top of a light bulb just a bit quicker than Dave and took home the grand prize.
And then there was the Dare to Wear competition where everyone had to buy something for another person that he or she would never normally wear. Jenny took the cake as she flaunted her stuff in a royal blue jacket with ruffles on the bottom and puffed sleeves...very vogue. We all went out to dinner that night in our Dare to Wear garb.... it was worth it to see all the stares coming from the Park City-ites as we walked down Main Street. Can't wait to wear those pink suede and fur boots again.

The last night we had a talent show where Dave and I debuted as
Kiss and Cher chin puppets. Never did I know that a simple talent show skit would turn into such a production, but it turned out great and will always be fun to look back on and laugh.

Those three days were packed with lots of fun and just the right amount of relaxation. Thanks Nielsen clan for such a great weekend!
