This girl is meeting so many new milestones, we can't but help celebrate them. So naturally, we are going to celebrate her "corrected" one year birthday...or her one year mark of when she was due. We even wrapped a few small gifts for the occasion.
{She is really starting to get into animals...especially dogs and kittens}
Tess always wants the TV remote whenever we have it in our hands...so we got one for her very own!
And even though it might not look like it here, Tess was way more into her cake this time around than on her real birthday. She seemed to know exactly what to do with it...stuff it into her mouth. Chocolate is quickly becoming one of her favorite food groups.
Amazing things that this little piglet is doing....crawling! Hooray! We've waited for a while, and she is now a mad crawler. And she is loving her new found freedom. I think she realizes crawling is way better than creeping and rolling, although she still rolls here and there. She is a master at that. Dave calls her "Torpedo". She sure is a lot more mobile now. We can't keep track of where she is. She loves to look up at us and then crawl away as fast as she can. Next step...learning to stand which she doesn't really like. She just screams and screams. But she always does that when learning a new trick.
Tess has learned the word "no" and she isn't too fond of someone telling her that. Funny story:
Dave was working in his office and his computer
screen kept going blank and turning off. He couldn’t figure out what was wrong
until he saw Tess on the floor by the computer with her little finger pressing
the power button. When she reached for it again, he said “no”. She kept
reaching for it and he said “no” a little stronger. Tess looked up at him with sad eyes and then buried her head in her hands and cried. It was so
sad but so cute at the same time. After he comforted Tessie, he put her back on
the floor. And guess what? She headed right for the computer again only to be told “no” as she started to cry. I think she has now realized what "no" means and she doesn't get too close to the computer anymore. Can't wait until she starts telling us "no."
Tess loves music and loves to dance in our arms. She grins and grins. She is starting more solid foods and pretty much spits out anything that is pureed. She only wants "real" food. Tess is starting to discover her voice...she loves to play this yelling game where she yells, we yell back, she yells again, and so forth. It usually ends in giggles and smiles.
We are sure grateful for our "lil peanut" that isn't so little anymore. I can hardly believe the leaps and bounds she has made since she was born. We love her!
