We are half way!

half way!!!!

January 9, 2011 marked our half way point of pregnancy. It's hard to believe we are already 20 weeks and in just another 20 weeks (not a day sooner we hope), we are going to have a beautiful baby girl in our arms. We are so excited and thankful, thankful, thankful that we are this far and I have been feeling so good. I hope this lil' girl is ready to be smothered with lots of LOVE!

A little icecream to celebrate...Ben and Jerry's Half Baked to be exact!

Bulging Belly

I decided that I needed to document my growing belly for posterity sake. We started this at 12 weeks. It's crazy to look back on these pictures now and see how quick I've grown! I'm not sure if this same brown shirt is going to last my entire pregnancy for pictures!

19 weeks

As you can see, being short doesn't do anything for you in the pregnancy arena. I have no room to hide anything! Really...I haven't just been eating cookies and icecream to get this belly.

Did you notice that I'm wearing the same jeans in 19 weeks as I am in 15 weeks? Those aren't maternity pants either! However, I only put those on for the picture and they aren't zipped up at all and cutting off my circulation. But at least they still kind of fit in the legs and butt anyway...so I'll take it.

Here I am with my first maternity accessory...the belly band. I started wearing this with some of my pants around 15 weeks. Sure felt better being able to leave my button undone.

And here is the very first maternity outfit I sported...just one day shy of 17 weeks. I was trying to hold out until 18 weeks before trading in my regular clothes for maternity, but boy, after putting these on, I had so much more room and knew I wasn't going back. It was heaven!

Magical Day

Think pink...we are!

Today has been a magical day! This morning we found out that a baby girl is going to be joining our little family. We are thrilled to pieces. I'm amazed at modern medicine and how much we could see on the ultrasound. This little girly is only 19 weeks and 3 days in utero and she is already so fully formed! This ultrasound was so thorough...we saw her head, brain, heart, aorta, pulmonary vein, stomach, bladder, diaphragm, kidneys, spine, arms and fingers, feetsies and toes, and so much more. She was as active as can be which I love. We are so grateful that everything is looking good with our lil' peanut. I feel more and more peace each time we go to the doctor and see our baby's progress.

I was actually a little surprised that the tech said girl so quickly. I was half expecting her to say boy only because everyone has been so adamant that it was going to be a boy including my mom who was so certain...only a few had thought it was a girl. I think all that boy talk influenced my thinking because I started to really dial into having a boy and even fell in love with a few boy names. So hearing we were having a girl caught me a bit off guard, but I am so excited. Just wait for all the bows, dresses, hats, accessories. This little girl does not know what she is in for!

Dave has really warmed up to a little girl after spending so much time during the holidays with new little nieces Caitlin and Avery. He's already talking about building her a doll house. I love it! I love seeing him so excited when we talk about our little girl and everything he is going to teach her. She is already winning him over.

Other exciting stuff...I felt her move for the first time today. Being a newbie, I wasn't sure how it would feel. But around lunch, I felt a little something. At first I thought I was hungry, but then it happened again and it dawned on me that it was the baby. Feels like a little guppy swimming in there. I can't wait until it happens again. Dave is anxious to feel her too....just a few more weeks.

Today has really made this whole baby thing much more real. I can't believe that in 20 short weeks our lives are going to change forever and we couldn't be more grateful to Heavenly Father for this blessing in our lives.

Avery's Blessing Day

The first Sunday of January, we were able to celebrate with Brian (Dave's brother) and Chelsie the blessing of their little girl Avery. Most of Dave's siblings were able to be there (we missed Jenny). It was a beautiful blessing. Avery didn't make one peep during the blessing...she was so good!
